Polityka’s journalists have summed up the year 2009. Out of the top ten musical events of 2009 in the classical music category three festivals organised by the Krakow Festival Office: Sacrum Profanum, Misteria Paschalia and the Opera Rara were mentioned on the first position.

Dorota Szwarcman commented: “Misteria Paschalia and Sacrum Profanum were joined by the Opera Rara series including four Baroque operas performed by leading European ensembles. Particularly outstanding was The Bourgeois Gentleman performed by the French ensemble Le Poeme Harmonique."
